I adore an extreme wet look, but learned that too much makes a mess; is there a brand that I can try that gives that slick look without my having to cake it on?How do I keep lip-gloss from making a mess when I kiss someone?
Honestly, an ';extreme wet look'; can look really trashy most of the time. It also looks like the girl was eating her lip gloss and got it all over her mouth, the way a ravenous hyena goes after its prey.
Anyways, if you are going to be kissing someone, just don't wear lip gloss. If you mean kissing as in lip to lip kissing, I'm pretty sure that the kiss-ee would prefer a gloss-free lip.
If you must, only apply a very small amount of sheer, non sticky lip gloss. Preferably, go with a tinted lip balm.

If you live in Canada try Quo Lipgloss, I like the ones in the square tube with the brush. The colour ';pout'; is very cute it's high gloss and has some shimmer to it as well. A little goes a long way and it smells like cake batter. They also made one in a squeeze tube called ';Double Dip'; it has clear gloss in one outside chamber and the colour in the inner chamber, depending on where you squeeze the tube you can choose how sheer you want the gloss. Quo is only sold in Shopper's Drug Mart.
If you are not in Canada then try L'oreal Color Juice or Victoria's Secret gloss. Oddly Wet and Wild also makes a very nice gloss called Glassy Gloss and it's really cheap.
Edit - I don't think there is such a thing as a waterproof lipgloss, the reason they can make waterproof lipsticks is because they make them as a stain, a lipgloss by nature cannot be a stain.
The Victoria's Secret lip gloss is good but it's thin just like the rest of them, so it's going to have to be caked on too. Uhm, I'd say try a thicker lip gloss. Try uhm... Neauties. It makes your lips really soft too! I've never tried it but I could see how thin lip glosses would make a mess and I think this may be the cure for your little problem! Plus, you can pick his favorite flavor ;)

Are we talking making out or just a peck? If it's the former, not much can help you -- maybe try a lip stain instead, or rely on reapplication. Anyway, Urban Decay has awesome products, as does Stila.

How do I paint over gloss with a metalic paint?
I want to paint some wood a shiny gold colour. I have a metalic gold paint suitable for wood but when I tried it out it wouldn't stick to the wood because it has previously been painted with a gloss paint.
Do I just need to paint over the gloss with a regular undercoat so the metalic paint will stick? There's too much wood for paint stripping or sanding so I want to avoid this.How do I paint over gloss with a metalic paint?

How do you wash off gloss paint from your skin?
Unfortunately when I opened an old pot of gloss paint, quite a bit went on my hands as I had to lift off a thick skin that had formed on top (even though I used tissue as well) and it took a while to get most of it off, and I've now got dried bits on one of my hands which I can't seem to wash off at all and it's starting to sting a little. Why are all bathroom worktops gloss?
I'm looking for a nice darkish (blue granite or slate effect) worktop for a new bathroom I'm planning. But every one I've found has a gloss finish. Surely matt would be more effective at hiding splashes and watermarks. Why are they always gloss?Why are all bathroom worktops gloss?

You can buy honed (unpolished) granite which has a matte finish, but you have to seal it, otherwise any splashes, toothpaste, make up, shaving cream, etc. have to be wiped up right away because it shows stains compared to polished granite.

Slate countertops are honed to a smooth matte finish, because it is non-porous, after installation it only needs a light coat of mineral oil and then it can be cleaned with any household cleaner.Why are all bathroom worktops gloss?
If you're in the UK, have a look at the worktops in Homebase, there are matt and gloss versions of nearly all the designs (see link) and there is a sample book in all their stores so you can see the actual item. They also provide cutting and delivery services (at a small premium).
Make sure you get the matching end strips and seal the raw edges properly before you add the end strips or the amounts of water in the bathroom will swell and burst your nice new worktop in weeks! Be sure to seal the back edge as well and be especially careful to seal any sink cut-outs you make before fitting the porcelain.
The end strips, once glued into place, need to be filed to shape like you would file off a large and annoying finger nail, with a large flat joiner's file, going in one direction along the length of the strip.
When you have put the worktop in place, use masking tape as a guide for your silicone sealant. Just run a straight piece of tape about 1cm above the worktop on your tiles or back wall, press down firmly so there are no bubbles and apply the sealant, wipe it in with a wet finger or shaping tool then remove the masking tape to leave a lovely clean straight line.

You can get matt finish...a good tip - a family member used kitchen work top in his bathroom as it was matt that he was after and like you it was harder to find. It looked exactly the same as the bathroom stuff but was half the price and does exactly the same job...

The reason bathroom surfaces are usually glossy is because glossy surfaces tend to withstand moisture better and do not absorb stains nearly as much as matte surfaces do. (Matte surfaces tend to be porous.)
Glossy surfaces are also much easier to clean.
They aren't all gloss finish - you just have to look around. I've seen lighter coloured ones in a matt finish at Wickes. Keep looking or google it. Our own is matt but in cream.

contact a carpet shampooer asap because they clean it proffesionally and it'll look great. till then leave it, because you don't wanna make it worse and the guy might even give you some tips. thats what i did when i dropped a massive dollop of chocolate brown on my cream carpet and it looks as good as new.

since your carpet is brand new, i'd say call a professional cleaner in asap. if it was older i'd try petrol on it, that removes paint but shouldnt harm the colour. then you steam it to get rid of petrol smell, when dry sprinkle with bicarb of soda and vacuum.
