How to get gloss paint off my black dress.?

Can anyone help with any tips how to get gloss paint off my black dress. There isn't much but it is now dried on and I don't want to ruin it with chemicals or throw it away. Any HONEST answers will be grateful. ThanksHow to get gloss paint off my black dress.?
I got something resembling nail polish on my favorite black top once. What worked for me was a product called ';Goof Off.'; It can removed latex paint, glue, adhesives, oil, gum, and a number of other stains and residues.

The cautions on it are a mile long--I only ever use it outside due to the fumes and take extreme care to store it where my child can't get to it. If you try it you should do a test spot first, of course.

The solvent took the residue off my favorite black top, then I rinsed and washed and it looked as good as new.How to get gloss paint off my black dress.?
oh funky monkey, that will teach you not to paint your house in your best clothes......
I have used Goof-Off to remove both latex and oil based paints from wool, cotton %26amp; polyester, and I think, silk. Test on a hidden area. Read and follow directions carefully. You may have to repeat several times. Be sure you have good ventilation during the process.
I'd stretch the stained area over a bowl and then pour rubbing alcohol (or denatured alcohol...that's got a higher alcohol content so you might have better luck with it.) You can get denatured alcohol at a hardware store....usually used by woodworkers.

The stretching over the bowl is done so the stain doesn't spread. If you do use the alcohol method, make sure you rinse it out as much as you can before laundering.

Good luck
