What is the best way to get gloss paint off a plastered wall?

It's an old house, the wall is plastered and then there is wallpaper, lining paper then another layer of wallpaper then the gloss. It's torture trying to get the gloss off, I need to remove it before I attack the other layers of paper. Don't know why they glossed the walls, must have been a nutter who did it!What is the best way to get gloss paint off a plastered wall?
steam stripper, score the paint first though.

found this by far the easiest and quickest wayWhat is the best way to get gloss paint off a plastered wall?
use a heat gun and you'll be done sometime around your 80th birthday stripping all that crap off I would just lift the paper with the paint and all. Or put paneling over the whole thing and let the next guy deal with it.
rip, ding ,cuckoo, sounds like my old place, yibadee
Paint Stripper.... you use a heat gun or steamer and you will expand the top layer of plaster......its old...and it will blow off....
