like at the home depot they show how they differ in shine what are those called? What are the different types of paint i know there's semi gloss but what are the others?
Lowest to highest sheen
1. Flat -ceilings
2.Washable flat -my favorite for most walls, not for bathrooms or kitchens. They are scrubbable and can be touched up.
3. Eggshells/ satins- good for kitchens and baths. Won't touch up like a flat though.
4. Semi-gloss- for trim,doors etc. Never walls!!!
5.Gloss- If you want shiny trim...here I am.
6. I'd step up from Home Depot paints and advice...It's not good. At all. What are the different types of paint i know there's semi gloss but what are the others?
Flat....no shine at all great for ceilings.
Eggshell...just a little shine great for walls in general easier to clean than flat particularly around light switches or where people touch walls
Semi-Gloss walls and ceiling in kitchen and bath trim elsewhere dont forget to add mildewcide for bathrooms in particular
Gloss usually for trim only I consider it too shiny and much too likely to chip if bumped
HD Behr brand paint is not bad at all
Edward S is correct.
Also, there is enamel paint. Very durable %26amp; washable but better not stop while painting or will see your stop/start lines.
Exterior house paint is tougher and also have oil based paints.
